Hansal Mehta ONCE AGAIN calls out Byju amid crisis; hints at OTT series on mess

Byju's, the Indian ed-tech giant, is in turmoil. The company has been facing a number of challenges in recent months, including the resignation of top executives, employee unrest, and financial problems. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta has been one of the most vocal critics of Byju's. He reacted to the Byju crisis while referring to his old tweet, in which he called the company a "total sham" and said that its workings are "material" for a Scam season 4.

Mehta's comments come as Byju's is facing a number of financial problems. The company has missed deadlines on financial statements, lost board members and auditors, and is not making regular payments on a $1.2 billion loan. Mehta has also accused Byju's of using unethical sales practices. He said that the company tried to convince his daughter that she was "poor academically" in order to sell her their programs.

For the unversed, a recent report by The Economic Times found that Byju's had engaged in "aggressive" sales practices and had made "misleading" claims about its products. The report also found that Byju's had a high attrition rate, with over 10,000 employees leaving the company in the past year.

In a separate tweet, Mehta said that the issues faced by Byju's were worthy of becoming an OTT series and even hinted at a title for the series- "Scam S4 - The Byju scam".

There I said it 2 years ago. Scam S4 - The Byju scam. https://t.co/dNTDHSL5Kf — Hansal Mehta (@mehtahansal) June 27, 2023

Mehta is the director of the much-acclaimed web series "Scam 1992" based on the Harshad Mehta scandal. Meanwhile, his latest directorial venture, Scoop, has also managed to impress the audience as well as the critics.
