Koffee With Karan 8 Finale: Karan Johar REACTS as Danish Sait, Kusha Kapila ask if Zoya Akhtar launching Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor pinched him: “Felt like my crown was taken away”

In the grand finale of season 8, Karan Johar took the hot seat as he hosted content creators on the Koffee couch. Kusha Kapila, Sumukhi Suresh, Danish Sait, Tanmay Bhat, and Orry join forces to turn the tables on Johar playfully. When the jury was on the couch, Danish Sait asked Karan if it pinched him that the three-star kids Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, and Khushi Kapoor among a few new faces were launched by Zoya Akhtar in The Archies.

“What is more hurtful, the fact that you did not get to launch the star kids because Zoya Akhtar did it in The Archies,” Danish asked as Kusha Kapil added, “How did that feel? Did that cut deep?”

To this, Karan responded wittily, “Yes…” before adding, “That was also a bit like, it felt like my crown was taken away. See, for the crown to be taken away, the queen died. But here the queen was alive,” as he pointed as himself, which left the jury members in splits. “And suddenly Zoya Akhtar claims it. I wondered, ‘Should we do an event where the crown is [given away]?’ You have three bonafide kids from the film families. By best was two in one film, and she kind of beat the record. Student Of the Year had two (Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan), and Dhadak had two (Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter). I have never had more than two.”

He further said, “Now, we are all really trying to make the ‘outsiders’, the ‘insiders’.”
